  1. Night Moves (1975) Dir. Arthur Penn Gene Hackman is awesome as an everyday, flailing & failing private eye. Another revisionist PI film without the ha-has of The Long Goodbye but still pretty similar. When Hackman’s cheating wife comes home to find him watching a football game, she asks “Who’s winning?”. His response: Nobody, one sides just losing more slowly than the other”, which might just sum up this movie. A near-perfect 70s film.
